Applying for a User Account
Like the Lost Plays Database, CADRE is not open to public editing. To ensure quality control, all potential contributors must apply to the editors for access to a user account.
To apply for a contributor user account, please email the general editors at editors@cadredb.net with the following:
- Your name, in the form you use for publishing, including initials if desired (this will also be your username if your application is approved);
- A brief bio. This information will assist the editors in determining whether or not your application is suitable, and will also form the basis for the bio publicly available under your username (if your application is approved);
- The statement: "I accept the Co-Authored Drama in Renaissance England Terms of Service" (see below for the full Terms of Service);
- Your academic status and affiliation (if you are a graduate student, provide the name of your supervisor or dissertation director);
- A list of your publications (if any) relevant to early modern dramatic authorship and theatre history;
- A short comment explaining your interest in CADRE. Please comment specifically on its relevance to your scholarship; and,
- If there are any entries you would like to provide, please mention them and explain why.
The general editors will confer with each other (and, as necessary, with the advisory board) and respond to your email regarding the status of your application. Any questions should be directed to the general editors at editors@cadredb.net
Creating and Editing Content
Once a user account is approved, a contributor may create and edit content on CADRE directly. Please follow the Folgerpedia's guide to basic MediaWiki markup and style.
Hint: If you're creating a new entry from scratch, you can pre-populate the page with default sections by editing the source, and adding "{{Entry}}" (without the quotation marks) to the page, saving and refreshing.
